Ep. 52 Layer Cake

This week we add an extra Layer on Scene Stealers. We are talking about Matthew Vaughn's 2004 debut feature Layer Cake. For The Vault segment, Leo is talking about the 1986 Sylvester Stallone action flick Cobra and Charles is talking about Daniel Kaluuya's directing debut with the 2023 dystopian film The Kitchen. The main attraction is Layer Cake, which is all about gangsters and an unsuccessful drug heist. It was a breakthrough film for Daniel Craig, helping him land the Bond role and the beginning of Vaughn's rising career.  Leo and Charles discuss Craig's grounded demeanor, the misuse of an all-star cast, and an unpredictable ending.
